Once upon a time, there was a girl who believed in the magic of fragrance. That girl was me, and this is the story behind The Girl Who Writes Scented Stories—a space where fragrance meets storytelling, and every scent tells a story.
A Magical Journey
Before I created Flourish Emporium, I spent over a decade as a wedding planner, known affectionately as The Fairy Godmother or The Girl Behind The Wand. It was a time full of magic—helping couples craft their perfect day, transforming dreams into reality, and watching love stories unfold. But what I realised along the way was that my true passion wasn’t just in making those weddings unforgettable. It was in creating the moments that linger—the memories that are forever tied to the senses.
Scent was the missing element I’d always longed for. I began to see how deeply fragrance could root us in a time, place, or feeling. So, after years of crafting unforgettable weddings, I turned my attention to crafting unforgettable scents. And thus, Flourish Emporium was born—a place where every fragrance is a chapter in a larger story, waiting to be shared.
The Scented Magic
Fragrance isn’t just about what smells good—it’s about what it makes us feel. It’s about the emotions it stirs and the memories it brings rushing back. For me, each fragrance I create starts with a feeling, a memory, or a moment in time. It's like casting a spell—one that draws from the past and carries it into the future.
Take our New Beginnings scent, for example. It’s not just a blend of fresh, uplifting notes—it’s a story of new chapters, fresh starts, and moments of growth. It was born from a simple desire to evoke that feeling of stepping into something new, something exciting. It’s the scent of possibility, of change, and of the beautiful moments that lie ahead.
Behind the Scent: How It All Comes to Life
One of the most magical parts of creating a fragrance is the journey it takes from an idea to a finished product. The process isn’t just about mixing ingredients—it’s about storytelling through scent. For each fragrance, I start with an inspiration—a memory, an experience, a feeling. I bring it to life by carefully blending different notes, each one adding its own chapter to the story.
Each scent has a purpose and a place in the narrative. Some are inspired by the warmth of family, like our Winter Glowfragrance that reminds us of cozy nights spent with loved ones. Others carry the magic of nostalgia, like Grandad’s Garden, which was inspired by the peony garden my grandfather grew.
